Management Aptitude Test MAT 2012
The first MAT exam of the year, is scheduled for Sunday,
5th February, 2012. The computer based test will start
from Saturday, 11th February, 2012. If you are serious about the
exam, you must be halfway through your preparation. But if you know the areas
and topics which are most likely to appear for the exam, it will help you
prepare in a better and systematic manner.
MAT exam consists of four sections of Language Comprehension, Mathematical
Skills, Data Analysis and sufficiency, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning and
Indian and Global Environment. The number of questions is 200 and the duration
of the paper is 150 minutes.
MAT 2012 Exam Pattern :
MAT Language Comprehension :
This section is divided among two parts, Reading Comprehension and the
English Usage. The Reading Comprehension part had five passages. The difficulty
level can be considered as easy. In the English Usage section can be divided
into Vocabulary and Grammar. The Vocabulary portion had questions on Synonyms &
Antonyms, Odd man out and Fill in the blanks.
The grammar questions were on most appropriate restatement, Para-Jumbles and
Best essence of the given paragraph. The difficulty level of this part was
moderate to difficult
MAT Data Analysis and Sufficiency :
This section comprises of questions from Data Interpretation ( DI ), Data
Sufficiency ( DS ) and Data Comparison ( DC ). The lion’s share of the section
was on DI. The questions were on bar graph, line graph, pie chart and caselets.
The difficulty level was of moderate to difficult. The question on Data
Sufficiency and Data Comparison were of easy level of difficulty.
