SDM Institute for Management Development (SDMIMD), Mysore has invited
applications for admission to Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), the
two-year, residential PGDM Programme of Academic Year 2012-14.
Post Graduate Diploma in Management
The two-year, residential PGDM Programme, approved by the AICTE, Ministry of
HRD, Government of India, has been recognized as being highly contemporary with
a state-of – the art pedagogical practices. The course is compiled from current
industry practices and probing business case studies. The faculty has a wide
knowledge base and rich teaching experience and this matched with Institute
facilities of international standards, constitute the cutting edge advantage.
The overall objective of the high degree of academic rigour that is practiced is
to ensure that each student is driven from within to think and behave as a
In their second year, while specialization is not compulsory, students
reserve the option to specialise in up to two disciplines from key areas like
Marketing, Finance, Systems, HRM and Operations.
Applicants should sit for the CAT 2011 / XAT 2012 / GMAT exams and
have at least a three-year Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in any discipline
from any college recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)
/ Association of Indian Universities (AIU), with minimum 50 per cent marks in
aggregate or equivalent CGPA.
Those appearing for their final year Bachelor's degree examination in April /
May 2012 may also apply, provided they complete their final degree examination
and meet other requirements before the commencement of the course in the first
week of June 2012. They need to submit the degree certificate / provisional pass
certificate and marks sheets latest by 31 August, 2012.
Students may also be considered for admission on the basis of a valid GMAT
Briefly, the admission process at SDMIMD is conducted in Two stages.
- The first stage will be the scruitiny of application with emphasis on
CAT 2011 / XAT 2012 / GMAT Scores and consistent academic record, work
experience, extra curricular activities like achievements in sports, debate
etc. will count. Shortlisted applicants will be called for the personal
interview process through email/courier/mobile call.
- In the Second stage, interviews will be held during February and March
2012 at 7-8 locations across India as mentioned in on page 2 of the
application. The process involves writing an essay on a selected topic and
an interview by a panel of two faculty members.
Finally, selected candidates and wait listed candidates will be informed
and details of joining the institute will be given.
